Postcards from a better day: part 5

Perfect timing
A decisive moment. Is it time for tea? Time to go home? Time for a change? I like photographs that contain a narrative—clues that we can piece together.

Photography was allowed in this part of the gallery. There were quite a few people who were taking photographs of the photographs instead of actually looking at the prints. I found that quite bizarre. Experiencing the print on the wall demands something of the viewer—time to ponder, to allow your eyes to wander and discover the unexpected, to ask yourself why this image resonates and why the previous one didn't, to contemplate the moment that the photograph was taken, to question the intent behind the image. That sort of thing. And you really need to study the print and take some time over it. A bit like that guy over there in the corner, I suppose.
