19.80

I went out to lunch the other day with a good friend (and had a very tasty apple crumble and custard too). The cafe had a nice old-fashioned cash register, the kind that makes clunky mechanical noises and old-fashioned till receipts with purple ink and 'call again' printed politely at the bottom. I couldn't resist photographing it. I had my point-and-shoot set on macro all day - without realising - so this was probably the only photo that was actually in focus. I'm trying to get a nostalgic mood but I'm not so sure that this colour treatment works.

Love this...can almost smell the chips and vinegar and see them wiping the tables :O)

Maybe crop to just cash register and ketchup bottles ?.....focus of interest/colours ???

At first I did a square crop to eliminate the plant pot and shelf on the right but I decided that it looked a bit empty and out of context. I guess I'm trying to catch the memory of the occasion so I'm less objective.
